Depopulation, Disposal, and Animal Handling Workshop

I had a great time this week at the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Depopulation, Disposal, and Animal Handling Workshop held at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia. Unfortunately, I missed the animal handling discussions but I learned a lot from the depopulation presentations.

For the carcass disposal day on Thursday, I presented on large animal disposal methods, composting livestock, Shallow Burial with Carbon, and preprocessing carcasses prior to composting. We also had demonstrations on composting carbon materials and Shallow Burial with Carbon.

As a trainer and presenter, I am always happy to have engaged and inquisitive participants and we had both at this workshop. I am grateful to the Georgia Department of Agriculture for the opportunity and to all the participants for their engagement!
