To combat the continued spread of African Swine Fever, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations formed the African Swine Fever Global Pool of Expertise (ASF GPE) to consolidate the insights of top experts from around the world. The ASF GPE has individual workgroups focusing on specific topics like biosecurity, surveillance, etc.
I am participating in the Control Interventions group and we held our 3rd virtual meeting last week. I am excited to report that we are consolidating the recommendations of experienced ASF responders from Africa, Asia, and Europe into a recommended practices document. Once we finalize the content, we hope to make it available to ASF responders and decision-makers in some type of electronic format. More to come!
